Can I bring art supplies into Australia?
I practice chinese brush painting and I was wondering if I could bring my supplies with me into Australia without declaration. The items I want to bring are :
* Brushes
* Chip watercolours
* Ink
* Rice papers
I know this might seem like a stupid question but considering this stuff are made from plants, animal hair and so on, I am just not sure. I’m not going to bring large quantities though. Should I declare these at all ?
Thanks.
NO you can not bring anything wooden or organic [rice paper] to Australia EXPECIALLY without declaring it. You will find your self with a customs fine of $220 fumigation charges for the brush, conviscation of your papers. Heres the goverements website http://www.australia.gov.au/topics/immigration/customs-and-quarantine-for-migrants have a look, there are people you can contact if you cant find your answer.
